The Drag Queen Arachne suffers from her sexual insatiability. When she learns that the government is working in a lab on a drug that stops the sex drive, she wants to acquire the substance to impose it on everyone and save themselves.
“Drive” wants to lose it and does it like no other porn. The film has eyes, ears, everything wide open, so that he can hear the mad whisper of all things and see the countless faces behind the faces. He has this complexity, which, when it is almost dark, on the border with invisibility, one suspects, where everything lies on top of each other and dissolves. This dusk, when colors vibrate so meaningfully, as if in the visible world they were merely placeholders for infinitely more. The camera (Jack Deveau) has such a deep, knowing feeling for the over-the-top one as any I’ve been allowed to watch sex with; her sprawling images of sexual acts (somehow this weird expression fits here) are a revelation.
