Storyline:The summer Lars turned 12, he still feels he should stay away from the girls, but the prostitute Lill teaches him to dance tango. But he is also aware that girls are not just something to stay away from. At the same time, mother and father are moving away from each other. Fortunately, Lars has his regular places to be and his regular friends: his friend Peter, Kalle who is an old sailor in the attic and Lillian who lives off prostitution, but who learns to dance tango. But first and foremost, Lars has Uncle Tobby, every boy’s dream uncle. Tobby lives in an allotment garden, is a former boxer and has a motorcycle with a sidecar. Happiness is wearing a helmet and goggles and rushing out into the world for a full cubic meter. Lars in the Gate won Amanda for best children’s and youth film in 1985.
