Description
Le plongeon 2014
10min | Short, Drama | 10 October 2014 (USA)
Storyline:Thirteen years old and on the edge of adulthood, a boy on a diving board faces the unknown.User review:So, I was reminded to write something about this lovely short film after it won (another) award, this time at the Chicago children’s’ film festival.Although it hasn’t left the festival circuit yet, I can tell you you’re in for a real treat. A poignant study of youth, young confidence and striking out into the world, you really feel for this boy who – self-conscious and unsure – takes a literal leap into adulthood. You can’t help but feel for him – shivering, sandwiched between hairy grown-ups, looking up with trepidation at the towering edifice he’s got to climb to impress a girl. I guess we’ve all been there. This is a film that really feels like a million dollars – beautiful shots, high production values, and a lovely lido that I would love to visit on a sunny day. Anyway, watch it when you can.
