I had been waiting for this film for some time, then I found it on sale on DVDBay and I have to say (write) that I really liked the film. Relatively original story with a surprise ending that I enjoyed. The style is that of Ivan Noel (director) whom I consider very beautiful and original. Also check out his other films that you always find on DVDBay. Very nice.

This is Ivan Noel`s tenth feature film and it is 1961 in North Argentina in a run down boys school which is run by the church and once housed up to 250 pupils. It opens with the unannounced visit of Father Martin who seeks out one of the pupils. This is not a sexual encounter but goes back to a family Freud started in World War two. Watch the film to see the dramatic ending.
The cinemaphotography is flawless and once again this director proves you do not need expensive production equipment to achieve this film.
Sadly it has been reported the director has recently committed suicide but the good news is his film company carries on owned by his work colleges. He will be sadly missed by his followers. To my mind his film making has been like no other and has not been bettered.

The English subtitles were not even close to being in sync with the scene. The subtitle was probably about 25 seconds behind the scene.
