Barfuss ins Bett 1988
Barfuß ins Bett (original title)
55min | Drama, Family | TV Series (1988–1990)

Dr. Hans Schön, widower and busy senior physician of a gynecological clinic, would probably never have known the kindergarten teacher Josi correctly, if his mother Martha did not fall off his bike one day. As long as the caring grandmother is in the hospital, a replacement for the care of five-year-old Robert must urgently be found. Schön’s great son Clemens is spending his school holidays at a campsite on the Baltic Sea. Fortunately, Robert’s educator agrees to take the alert boy. The days with little Robert also distract Josi a bit from her own grief. She is pregnant, but her boyfriend does not want the child and threatens to leave Josi.

Wonderful. The series is exactly as I remembered it. I first saw her on television in the GDR. As it is with so many childhood memories, I thought back to this series every now and then and was very pleased that finally the DVD is available. And I was not disappointed.
In very good picture and sound quality, the series has again been made into a nice viewing experience. Popular actors of that time (and today) show the ordinary life of a DDR family. An everyday story, as it still can today.
Look at the show, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed.

This series (this is episode 13) disappoints me. All this revolves around a Kindergarten, so childcare. However, it is mainly about the concerns of the adults: the caregivers and the parents. Children, mainly girls, are passers-by, who seem to play only a small supporting role. The ups and downs of the children’s world are absent here.
