Storyline:
Set in the summer months preceding the September 1939 outbreak of World War II in Polish part of Lithuania. A young highschool lad, Witek, is hoping to pass the entrance exams to the university. His love interest is Alina, his high-school colleague.

It is one of the best love stories I’ve ever seen. The heroes are very attractive young men. The film shows the development of their passion through funny situations with true love to small details that makes you touched and compassionate. The shadow that the approaching war casts on the events makes the story also tragic and sad.

My copy did NOT have subtitles. Boring plot went nowhere. Not recommended. Old film with not so great image quality.
