Stolen Days 2019
Il ladro di giorni (original title)
1h 45min | Drama | 6 February 2020 (Italy)
A father, just out of prison, wants to spend some time with his eleven-year-old son.
Salvo (Augusto Zazzarro), he has not seen his father since the day of his arrest. He was a boy; seven years have passed. Vincenzo (Scamarcio), after a return to the scene worthy of the best programs of Maria De Filippi, drags his son, for whom he is now a disturbing unknown, on a car trip through Italy. When carrying a heavy load, “a child is better than a gun” as a pass. And while you’re at it, who knows if you won’t be able to reconstitute a semblance of father-son relationship, and as long as we stay on the subject, everything is still fine. Too bad for an extremely confusing script. Partly family drama, part road movie, part formation novel. A few shades of thriller, a touch of noir. Sometimes the film doesn’t seem to know how to fit.
