Il ladro di bambini (original title)
1h 54m | Drama | 10 April 1992 (Italy)
Storyline:Antonio, a policeman (carabiniere), has an order to take two children (Rosetta and her brother Luciano) from Milan to Sicily to an orphanage. Their mother has been arrested for forcing Rosetta (11 years old) to work as a prostitute. First the relation between Antonio and the children is tough, but it relaxes so they become temporary friends.User review:This film is one that will be difficult to view. The basis of the film is that two children are taken away from their abusive mother. Lo Verso must escort them to an orphanage however the orphanage does not want the children. I won’t spoil anything for you, but I will say that this type of film would never be made in the US. The themes that are suggested are extremely controversial.I too agree with many people when they say that this is one of the best acting performances by children ever.
