The Strange Ones 2011
14min | Short, Drama, Mystery | 20 January 2011 (USA)
A man and a boy, traveling to an unknown destination, find respite in a motel swimming pool. On the surface all seems normal, but nothing is quite what it seems to be.
You have a situation portrayed in this short, that makes you believe you know what’s going on. But do you really? The short plays with clichés and expectations, but does won’t give you an easy answer. This might not be something you like to see, depending on your taste. A lot of people do like clarity. You won’t get this here.
It’s all about what you think, with hints thrown into the mix. There are just a couple of actors and every move or sentence looks/sounds ambivalent. It is up to you to decide what you think of what you see and hear. It is a nice thing and the actors are really good in this. The mood they create is captivating. Maybe on a level that will engulf you too
